When splitting steel and aluminum plates with circular saws or band saws, high cutting forces and considerable friction are generated on the tool cutting edge. Not using targeted lubrication causes build-up edges, heat input into the workpiece, burr formation, and premature tool wear. Conventional cooling lubrication methods are often imprecise, cause residues on the material, and lead to unnecessary lubricant consumption.
