Milling billets – especially when machining large aluminum and steel slabs – places extreme thermal and mechanical loads on the cutting edges. Without targeted lubrication, this leads to rapid tool wear, uneven milling results, and thermally induced surface damage. Conventional cooling or lubrication systems are often not precise enough and contaminate the machine and workpiece.
